Mobile money technology has simplified financial transactions. It enables people to transfer money using their mobile phone accounts, eliminating the need to wait in line at banks or ATMs to make transfers. With the paybill feature, you can conveniently send money from your M-Pesa account to an Equity Bank account at any time.
Here’s a simple method to transfer money from M-Pesa to your Equity account.
1.Using your phone, go to the Safaricom SIM tool kit menu.
2.Click on M-Pesa.
3.Tap on “Lipa na M-PESA” then the “PayBill” option.
4.Tap “Enter business no.” Enter the PayBill number 247247 as the business number for Equity Bank.
5.Click on “Account number”. Enter your Equity account number or the recipients.
6.Enter the amount you wish to send.
7.Enter your M-Pesa PIN.
8.Confirm the details. If everything is accurate, hit the send button.
Within seconds Safaricom will send a pop-up window asking you to confirm the transfer. During this stage, you also have the option to stop the whole transaction by entering any number or letter.
If the details are correct, pressing cancel allows the transaction to be completed. A confirmation SMS from M-Pesa and Equity will be sent to your Safaricom line. The message shows that you sent the money, and the individual received it.
